For those who may not know me yet,
I chose to work in this industry because my dad was a mechanic and as a kid I was always working and building with him. He taught me about the different trades, and introduced me to a variety of tools. The legend is true-- I slept with a hammer instead of a teddy bear as a child. I always loved building and creating with my hands, and originally wanted to be a welder. I started my own business when I was 11 years old, just fixing fences, changing oil, and mowing lawns. I became serious about building when I was 18, when I got a job building custom homes from an old-school craftsman. I absolutely loved it. I got my contractor's license at 23, started Seyms Construction in 2008, and have been building custom homes ever since. I specialize in custom homes, remodels, and additions. I have built homes from the foundation up to the roof, and everything in-between. I take great pride in my finish work as well. I spent many years in Sonoma County and have moved my family to Siskiyou County to be closer to the mountains. I married my wife Amy in 2014, and we have two girls aged 4 and 7. Their blonde hair is as curly as their dad's. We relocated to McCloud from Sebastopol in 2021, and have since spent time together camping, fishing, hiking, and enjoying being together. I have loved becoming a part of the Siskiyou community.
Thanks for building community with us,
Michael Seyms, owner/operator
